Adelholzener Alpenquellen: KIC Krones adhesives are the right choice

The mineral water bottlers Adelholzener Alpenquellen commissioned what is their ninth non-returnable PET line in all during April 2007. Now the successful bottler from Upper Bavaria has gone one step further: right from the start, Adelholzener has also opted for KIC Krones as its sole adhesive supplier, integrating the know-how of the glue experts also into the filling and packaging process. Thilo Einmayr, responsible for production planning, explains why: ”The problems encountered again and again are processing difficulties with the glue, the question of glue adhesion, the degree of soiling on the machine from glue threads. Setting the right temperatures and the right viscosities are other parameters to cope with. If the machines and the adhesive are provided by the same supplier, the onus of coordination is quite clearly on Krones. In our company, quality and functionality with regard to line efficiency are the paramount considerations.“
Adelholzener is using glue that has been precisely optimised for the application involved. KIC Krones-colfix HM 1195 N is used for wrap-around labelling on the Krones Contiroll, a special hotmelt with excellent machinery travel characteristics at low temperatures and humid or wet surfaces. For gluing cartons and trays, KIC Krones recommends Hot Melt KIC Krones-colfix Mega S, a versatile adhesive for gluing outer cartons, trays and folded cartons. High adhesion, high thermostability and very good operating characteristics are its most important features.
