Kic Krones is the sole adhesive supplier

In the spring of 2006, the Austrian food and beverage conglomerate Spitz decided to choose Kic Krones as its sole supplier of all adhesives required. By concentrating on just one adhesive manufacturer, Spitz has now succeeded in significantly reducing the multiplicity of adhesives. Their product range includes jams, mustard, mayonnaise and ketchup, plus bread, cakes and pastries, as well as energy drinks. In addition to producing its own brands, Spitz also acts as a manufacturer and co-packer of foreign and dealer's brands.

To improve the quality of both its packaging and its dress, to cut costs and reduce the workload of the purchasing organisation, Spitz gave its entire demand for adhesives into Kic Krones' capable hands. The aim pursued by both Kic Krones and Spitz was to cover as many applications as possible with a minimised number of different adhesive types: Glass lines, labelling of PET and PP containers and applying the original-packing guarantee to metal lids, applying reel-fed wrap-around labels or precut labels in PET lines. Special adhesives are provided for hot-filling ketchup and for sealing lacquered cartons for bakeries.

Over and above the aspect of cost-cutting due to the Kic Krones adhesives' low consumption figures, and the fact that considerably less different types of adhesive must be kept stock, there are further advantages: now there is only one contact person, and an applications engineer from Kic Krones is available at any time, who, with his highly detailed knowledge of the machines involved, can support Spitz as a kind of service technician. Synergised expertise from both Kic Krones and Krones in terms of anything to do with adhesives, training and the interaction of the machine-adhesive system will thus benefit Spitz many times over.
